Oostende Odyssey Part II
Welcome back to the Oostende Odyssey!
We have played quite a few games since last week. We are now up until mid-November, and the league is going really well. Oostende are 1st in the league and bossing it for the most part. We have scored the most goals and conceded the least in the league so far. Considering how heavily favoured we are to go up with the bookies, this is not too much of a surprise. That does not mean there have been no surprises!
Our top scorer is Andrew Jung, followed very far behind by our new signing Fadel Gobitaka. Jung has been prolific in front of goal for us so far this season. He is using his size and heading ability to score from corners. I would say he is at least scoring from a corner once every 2 games. He also has one of the highest headers won ration in the whole league, which is seriously impressive for a striker.

Fadel Gobitaka has been outshone massively in this part of the season. He has only scored 7 goals. This is a decent return; it's just that Jung scored double this. The transfer embargo we have been put under has made me use some of our younger players in this early stage of the season as we had to deal with an injury crisis. The stand-out players are shown above.
Unfortunately, Jung's success is short-lived. We have agreed to transfer him to Lugano in Switzerland for a fee rising to about 900K. It would have been amazing to keep him for the whole season, but he would have almost certainly kicked up a fuss about having to stay in the 3rd tier of Belgian football. I do have a replacement or two lined up on my shortlist; however, we cannot sign anyone due to the embargo. This means we will have to use someone from within the club already. This won't be a problem until Jung leaves in January, but giving his replacement some proper opportunities before then will be nice.
We also began the season with some good youngsters at the club. The pick of the bunch is Amar Decorte, a 16 year old right back from Koksijde (a town close too Ostend) in Belgium. He has played 15 times this season and is averaging a rating of 6.95.
