Oostende Odyssey Part III
We have made a lot of progress since the last update. We can start with the youth intake we got this year. Some good prospects came through (only two). We signed both of them immediately. They were Robin Schumacher and Jackie Steens, both of whom are attacking third players.
We did end up getting promoted this season like the bookies said we would at the beginning. We got promoted before the end of the season because of a great run of form that only saw us losing two matches all season.
As you can see, Andrew Jung still finished as the top scorer in the league despite leaving us halfway through the season for Lugano. We had one player in particular who stepped up and took his place. His name is Friedrich Ngoma. He was sitting in the u18s and I saw that he had good potential so i decided to put him into the first team. I did not expect him to actually play that much but he ended up being the starting striker for the last few months of the season. He scored 11 goals in 12 appearances last season for a finish.
We had a big summer of transfers ahead with lots of players leaving on the expiry of their contracts. We lost one of our key players from last season in Robbie D'haese and also sold a backup left back for a nice and easy 150K.
In terms of transfers in we made Ten. Only one of these involved a transfer fee, this was for an Irish winger named Liam Kerrigan. I knew him from his time in the LOI and more recently his injury ridden spell at Como in Italy from were bought him. The signing I was most excited for was Yady Bangoura. He was prolific last season in our league with 19 goals in 30 games. The best player we have signed this summer is Taylan Bulut a RB from Germany who is on loan for the season.

P.s, an update on the finances...they have not gotten any better. If anything they are getting worse but the board keep injecting cash to help with the running of the club
